Ace’s Story

Better Life Animal Cancer Fund was inspired by a service dog, Ace.  A beautiful 7 year old Labrador, that was diagnosed with cancer.  He was a working narcotics detection dog that needed chemotherapy for his cancer and he was treated by Dr. Melissa Parsons-Doherty, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology).  

Ace’s story was an inspiration and a call to action for his veterinary oncologist and A Better Life Animal Cancer Fund was formed.  This non profit is focused on addressing the need for cancer diagnosis, treatment and compassionate care in animals that share our lives and mean so much.
